Our Story:

Angry Amputees are a band dedicated to the art of making powerful music through power chords,
guitar hooks, vocal harmonies, and aggressive energy infused into their song crafting. Not content
to fit into any time-worn punk rock clichés, this band strives for originality in a world where punk has
become all too formulaic and watered down. Striving for originality is key, especially for a band
where the members themselves break classic stereotypes: Two women, two men – one an actual
quad amputee.
After three years of pounding pavement touring on the road and establishing themselves in their
hometown of San Francisco as one of the top bands in the city, they continue to sharpen their
musical blade by rigorously working their songwriting, inspiring one another, and sharing a belief
that music is the most important unifying endeavor. Each of the four members brings their own
unique musical stylings to the song writing plate, and the collaboration between these varied
personalities produces songs layered with depth, honesty, and intensely written sonic
arrangements.
A highly charged and energetic live band, they have built their reputation as one of the most sought
after and entertaining bands to watch in The City by the Bay, and their shows are packed with sold-
out crowds. A strong and loyal following quickly built, and then they watched it grow in towns all
throughout the western United States playing name clubs in big cities, as well as playing alongside
mainstream acts on the Warped Tour in 2001 & 2002, further expanding their fan base. In
September of 2002, they won the SF Weekly Music Awards for best punk band in the Bay Area.
Their debut full-length album, “Slut Bomb”, produced by Jack Endino, is out now in stores on Dead
Teenager Records, and has been receiving regular rotation on college radio stations around the
country. In support of “Slut Bomb”, Angry Amputees will be touring relentlessly throughout the U.S.
and Europe in 2003 and 2004.
