Our Story:

The December Lies Trio formed like so many other bands in the wake of a break up. However, what makes their story unique is how the break up came about. For over 6 years the members of December Lies played as the Spitfire Monks. Then in December of 2004 their drummer, Brad was called to duty overseas in the NJ National Guard. Instead of ending everything, the remaining members decided to stay together under a new name in respect for Brad. The band just did not feel right playing any of the songs without him.

This made lead guitarist Travis move to the drums, leaving Billy on bass, and Jared on guitar and vocals. So, after some rowdy late night acoustic jam sessions, December Lies were able to craft a number of songs immediately making shows a quick possibility.

Their new music can be characterized as a mix between rock and punk with very heart felt lyrics. The new songs have much more depth musically with 3 members playing instead of 4, showing that they can still create and come up with catchy riffs and chorus's easy for anyone to sing along with.

December Lies continues to win over crowds with relentless energy and by engaging the audience in many of their shows, they are quickly becoming a favorite of South Jersey. The band has played with such acts as Were All Broken (Fidelity Records), Valencia (I Surrender Records), Hence Reverie (Avery Records), Modesty Panel, Element 101 (Chordant Music), Vision (Epitaph, Chunksaah Records), JustinCase (Maverick), and even jammed out with the boys of Matchbook Romance (Epitaph Records), thus proving they can hold their own with any band thrown at them.
