Our Story:

Drew Smith draws inspiration from Van Morrison, Steely Dan, and Paul Simon. The songwriting is distinct, with a style that relies on maintaining a pop sensibility while staying true to the singer/songwriter aesthetic.

Smith’s love of classic R&B prompted the makeup of his 7-piece band. His partnership with music arranger, Matt Russell, has helped bring the band to a professional level unmatched in the Austin local scene. The songs depend on Russell’s tight arrangements, and together, the two musicians have assembled a soulful band that provides an exceptional and unique live show.

Most recently, Drew Smith and his Band recorded two new EP’s: “The People Sing La La La” and “To: You, From: Me”. This Double EP was independently released in November, 2006.
