Our Story:

Following in the footsteps of classic hip hop duos such as Outkast, Eightball & MJG, and Run-D.M.C., the Execs unite to create compositions that effortlessly entice rap's grand trio(clubs, streets, & positive consumers). Members MJ and Buddy Cheeks are rapidly gaining regional attention through their continued success with "The Campaign" mixtape series. Following the retail and radio success of the songs "Nobody", "Give Me Some Mo", and their debut album Executive Decisions, the group received a total makeover. A revised lineup, followed by a name change from the Playa Executives to the Execs, brings the group into their sophomore effort with a lot of ground to cover and much to prove. The Execs new club anthem "Indecent Proposal" has begun its rotation through the southern region and is creating a buzz for the forthcoming album. When questioned about the usual sophomore layoff with many artists, the group ensures that fans can expect nothing less from the upcoming album.

The Execs are currently endorsing their new single with a fall regional tour entitled "The Campaign 2005". The tour will be concentrated in the gulf region with stops in Houston, Dallas, Austin, Baton Rouge, and other major urban scenes. Known for their over the top performances, which earned them a second place finish at the Texas Homegrown Battle of the Bands and a semi-final finish at the Source Unsigned Hype Battle, MJ and Buddy Cheeks are destined to draw new fans pledging allegiance to the group's movement. In addition, behind-the-scenes footage and an uncensored "Indecent Proposal" video will be compiled for a straight to DVD documentary on the rise of the Execs.

Many have compared the group's sound to Eightball & MJG and Nappy Roots. However, their sophomore recording, The Campaign, illustrates the superior sonic abilities of up and coming producer Buddy Cheeks(Slip-N-Slide Records). With recordings seamlessly migrating from club anthems to heart felt inspirational records and then onto social issues, the Execs will have no problems staying in the CD players of demanding consumers.
