J. Price is trying to bring something new to Rock. This solo artist is breaking apart from the genres and styles that have slowly shaped music into its dull and passionless form. J. Price takes inspiration from the classics like Sinatra and the Beatles and mixing it with modern bands like Muse and The Killers. This new sound is an eclectic mix of 50’s and 60’s Pop with a modern Indie Rock feel. Live shows are where the concept comes alive. Each song has a personality and is orchestrated with years of experience and mastery. J. Price has had a whirlwind of success in a short amount of time. Relentless touring and promoting with a short pause only to record the full-length freshman album aptly titled “I’m So Indie”. A new sound and rejuvenation was sparked care of famed Swedish producer Lars Goransson (Fastball, Cardigans).
The band is lead by J. Price on vocals and rhythm guitar. J. has played all over with his first band COOP. Right out of High School COOP made a name for themselves opening for acts like Sheryl Crow and Texas’s own The Refreshments. COOP was on their way till a development deal from MCA went bad when the label dissolved and the band members went their separate ways. Fortunately for everyone it was at this time that J. started getting heavily into Indie Rock and developing himself as a solo artist. As his lyrics suggest J. was “Indie Rock when Indie Rock wasn’t cool.” Lead guitar and vocals is handled by Jason Forehand. Jason’s guitar playing moves its listeners with solos that soar and riffs that kick you in the face. The newest additions to the band are Mark Turk on bass and Bill Smith on drums. Mark is a veteran of the Austin music scene and has performed at the Van’s Warped Tour and Spring Break 2001 at Panama City Beach. Bill has played countless gigs on the east coast and his hard hitting style brings the edge to the music.
J. Price started at the end of 2003 when it’s members found each other through the Austin Chronicle. The foursome immediately clicked sharing the same goals of not settling for just sounding good, and working harder then any other band out there to make sure everyone hears this new sound. J. Price stays true to Indie Rock but is not afraid to stir in innovative concepts and sounds constantly.
I’m so Indie is a testament that Austin continues to provide a space for great music to be created and inspired. Their first effort as a band is turning heads across the US and the UK . It’s an art form that has taken the task of bringing back the past.

J. Price rocks! i saw them at Executive Surf Club in Texas. i like the song "Snatch". keep up the good work u guys.
J.Price rocks. Most albums have 1 or 2 songs that you buy it for. This album has at least 9 out of 10 that you can listen to all day long. Can't wait to hear you live. "Snatch" sums up what is going to happen to you guys 'cause the labels will be fightin' over you. "Beautiful" is awesome and I saw the video on myspace. My girlfriend says she wants to be in the next one with Jason or J. She's too hot for you guys so don't count on it. I already added a site blocker for jpricemusic.com to her computer so she doesn't drool on the keyboard.
