Katy made the inevitable move to Nashville in August of 2002. After commuting from Clearwater, Florida for over six years in pursuit of her dream of becoming a country recording artist. The
regional airplay and attention she received with the single she re-leased the summer of 2002 convinced her to take her act to the next level and establish herself in the heart of Music City.
Within months, Katy landed a publishing deal and was writing with some of the top writers in town. Katy spent the next year writing everyday and performing at songwriter nights and clubs around town. While working days for an independent label and singing demos, Katy spent her evenings in the studio co-producing her CD with Kenny Royster, who has engineered over 6,000 songs in the ten years he has been in Nashville.
After writing hundreds of songs and listening to hundreds more, she finally whittled it down to the 13 songs that compile the edgy and colorful collection appropriately titled Kaleidoscope.
(February 04' Release) Katy recorded eleven of her best originals along with two other cuts penned by hit writers such as Kris Bergsnes, Jim Collins, and Shaye Smith.
Her first single release "My Song" is a captivating cut about hope and inspiration that she co-wrote with John Goodwin. "It Is What It Is" co-written with grammy award winner Jan Buckingham, is a catchy up-tempo tune
with a modern day woman's attitude. In her bluegrass ballad "Skindeep" Katy pulls at your heartstrings. She rocks listeners with "Rush", and in a bonus track she treats us with a Spanish version of "My Song". A touch of Lynyrd Skynyrd can be heard on "Little Man". This current single was inspired by her son and tells the story of the special bond between a single mom and her child.
