He has been performing on stage since the age of 14. Lou has always been a writer and a guitar player and has fronted several bands in the SF Bay Area. In 1980 Lou moved up to Lake County Ca. and put together a couple of different band but it wasn't until 1985 that Lou Derr & Bootleg was born. There is a list a mile long of accomplishments that Lou has earned. Including 3 Marlboro Talent Round-ups and Wrangler Country Showdowns just to name a couple. Lou spent 4 years working for his music hero John Fogerty and a few other CCR members at The Factory in the Bay Area before moving up north. Since 1985 Lou has shared stages with over 40 headliners including Waylon, Merle, Charlie, Carlene Carter, Marshall Tucker Band and Mickey Gilley. After a 11 year break due to a back injury, Lou is back this year with a new "Bootleg". He has put together a 6 pc "Rockin' Country" Band. He has been blessed with the best of the best, all seasoned performers, Lou has been touring Northern California since April of 2006 performing where ever he can. "Everyone is turning out for the shows, It's great feeling knowing the fans along with new ones are still out there supporting us" says Lou. Lou wants to carry on the tradition of performing the songs the way they were meant to be. "I put my own style to these great songs without insulting the audience or the writer, after all they know how the songs are supposed to sound! " You can bet Lou Derr & Bootleg will put on one heck of a show. From opening concerts to doing a family BBQ. You can count on some good "Rockin' Country Music".
