Our Story:

It's funny the ties that bind us, the places we find love and friendship, the trek we choose, and paths we take. It’s the comedy of how we make a plan, but even in the best instances, we can’t even begin to consider the possible choices, or combination of people, buildings, street signs, writings, arrangements, cups of coffee, brands of cigarettes, license plates, cars, or hangovers might get in the way. I guess the thing is, when you roll with the punches you take as many as you throw.
Adam Gregory (Guitar/vocals) has been an acoustic songwriter for almost 6 years now, he’s toured America, playing small coffee shops and dive bars, building relationships with foreign crowds, opening for friend’s bands, or blindly causing a stir in the wrong scene. All the while he continued carving a silhouette of rapport in the shoulder of anyone who listened. In a few cold winter months in an ugly industrial wasteland in the north and east sides of America the song changed key and the drums kicked in.
Adam met Gary at a show (Gary later left the band). Gary introduced Adam to some long running friends Evan Langley, (mostly keyboards) and Brian Buckley (drums). The original works were pure curiosity acoustic thumbnails on a computer that hadn’t been scratched out on anything but paper, and sung against bedroom walls. Brian kept the rhythm, and Evan threw in some harmony on keys or synth, or anything he could think up, and music was made, and they liked what they heard, so they got serious. Scott Ploysungwan (bass) joined the band a few weeks later, and their world started spinning.
Lynn Street is the sum of its parts (as most things are). The music ever changing with the mood or the weather, the setting, or the day of week. It is living, it is four members with drastically different mp3 collections, as well as hobbies and bed times for that matter. Its heart is rock n’ roll, its tongue a little more salty, its arms a mosaic of confrontational sounds and drum lines, and its legs a melody that won’t be forgotten.
Many people say they can’t pin a brother to the band, but commonly Lynn Street is suggested to have spawned from bands like the Counting Crows, the Doors, Bright Eyes, Wilco, Something Corporate and Radiohead, to name a few. Suggestions change from song to song, and verse to chorus, and often Lynn Street doesn’t even like the band they’re compared to. You can be sure of this, if you see Lynn Street, they will not be scene. But they dream like kids, and they sing just like they live, on the edge of a cliff with their arms wide and spread, then they fly away.
