Our Story:

Netherfall were born from an idea by Roberto Bottilo and Saverio Macrina. Funded in 2004 as a studio project, originally named \"Picture\", the band evolved soon into a real ensemble as Tony Balsamo joined on the drums in the autumn/winter of the same year, followed by Domenico Caruso on the keyboards in spring 2005. During 2006 the name of the band will turn definitively into its actual shape. The band\'s sound results in a fusion amidst the influences of every single member. All of them are involved in the search for new expressive styles in the hard and heavy ambit. The coordinates of the project, recognizable yet never banal and referential, sway among the concreteness of the riffing, always heavy, and technique-focused dissertations. These aspects are balanced by the omnipresent search for melody and expressivity rich patterns, and electronic experimentation. All of these peculiarities are kept togheter by thoughtful and meaningful lyrics, a distinctive part of what the band means to represent: a wide experience amidst powerful music, evocative atmospheres and commited subjects.
