Biography of the music of 'NICHOLAS CAMARENA' His music has been called unique, strange, depressing, funny, stupid and amazing. With so much diversity it’s no wonder the music of Nicholas Camarena is considered some of the more entertaining music of this Generation. Since he first started recording at ‘Beatdown Productions on the Treason Media label’ the ability to write a song with actually ‘something to say’ was not only impressive, but also refreshing. Reminding producers of psychedelic artist such as ‘Pink Floyd’, Nicholas’s music was deemed creatively from the start something entirely brand new.
The Imagery, the Music
The concept of imagery, along with the music, as one big experience, was something adopted by Nicholas from his teen idols 'Rammstein'. Nicholas believes that not only does the music have to grab you, but the person delivering it has an obligation to grab you as well. Such examples of what he’s done, is wearing what he calls a ‘shark stripe’ under on his right eye every time he gives a performance, or sometimes would wear a mask on the right side of his face almost like the 'phantom of the opera'. All of this is to let the audience know psychologically that he is here, ready, and willing to entertain you. After all, isn’t that really what show business is all about?
Clashing Comparisons
The comparisons that he’s received over the years has been rather difficult to swallow, but that’s not to say that those comparing him to whoever isn’t right. It’s just that with such a diversity of audience there tends to be such a big gap from one opinion to the next. For example, in the year of 2004 he was compared to lead singer of Lifehouse Jason wade by a member of Lets Talk music.com, but he was also compared to Queen by the same Organization.
The New Breed of Genre
One of the hardest things to do while listening to Nicholas’s music, is trying to fit it into a certain type of Genre. It’s something completely unique, and totally original. In my opinion, it’s what music sounds like when an artist is totally unafraid of developing what he hears in his mind, and not in the minds of others. Someone who believes that in order to evolve the future, you may have to reconstruct the past.
