Our Story:

Oak is Keeping is the outcome of mixing influences like Queens of the Stone Age and Radiohead, with Led Zeppelin and Cream. This mixture, along with the distinctive styles of Shay Isdale, Mastin Kirksey, Hannah Durham, and Kyle Robarge, gives way to huge, dark guitars, pounding drums and powerful bass lines all with a touch of classic rock, and a hint of blues. The sound is topped off with soaring harmonies with brash lyrical content about every thing from murder to love. Their songs can range from hard rock, like "What We Live," powered by a thumping drum beat and heavy guitars, to power-pop rock such as "So Sweet," driven by keys and harmonies. OiK have been playing their high energy sets around Austin and other parts of Texas for the past year while writing and recording their first EP, "Dead Leaves," set to be released in early-2008.
