Some of Belgium's leading musicians and the marketing and communication agency Pirana Concepts have brought together their innovative outlook in a revolutionary musical project: Pirana Project. A new sound, an unfamiliar, extraordinary atmosphere is born …

The result of this blend of virtuosity and conceptual thinking is a previously unheard musical experience. The new avant-guard style has acquired the name π-Jazz. Pirana Project is unquestionably a concept worthy of its name. A stimulating new sound, music with a universal character that gives you a fresh look at authentic creativity.
Three baritone saxes, guitar, bass and drums: not an obvious combination, but an impressive one.

The word ‘lyrics’ acquires a new meaning: not English, not Dutch, not French, but LATIN … And Latin ROCKS!

The first CD was mastered by Bob Katz, an authority in the field, and winner of three Grammy-awards. He is convinced that Pirana Project will deliver him his fourth Grammy: ’This is an original, different, special, very creative piece of work’.

For this first edition Pirana Project worked with Jo Lemaire and Wim Opbrouck as ‘featured artists’. Jo Lemaire, a towering figure in the music world, is heard as she's never been heard before, in a masterly performance. Wim Opbrouck, celebrated actor and all-round performer, is amusing but captivating, exuberant and yet vulnerable.

This is not just a one-off. The Pirana Records label has been established, and two CDs are already at the design stage.
