Our Story:

Member of The EMC Boyz.
While his debut album, (“The Commencement”), revealed his versatility, Ruger (aka M.I.C.) is back behind the mic with a wiser outlook and awareness on life, the music industry and himself. “The Commencement” album was released in 2003 and sold well locally but with a distribution deal through IODA (i-Tunes, emusic, Napster, etc.), the digital world has revived that album and helped to promote singles for his next album. Born Michael Adams in the city of San Francisco, his recent work for his sophomore album presents his lyrical maturity that comes through in songs like “It’ll Be Alright”, a political stance and insightful track towards the disaster that occurred in New Orleans and other adversities in life. Not just another rapper, but a poetic MC, Ruges’ choice of deep personal thoughts overlaid by raw and solid vocals are once again making peoples’ heads turn and attracting the ears of many new listeners. Ruger still shows his Bay Area, g-style in songs like “Where U From” & “Messed Up” highlighting his hard-hitting, rough side to his persona. When he began lending his other talent, singing, to albums like “Underground Disciples, Vol. 1” & Lune’s “Need No Approval” fans began mistaking him for an RnB artist, hence one of the reasons he started using M.I.C or Mikey Valentino as an alter ego. His ambition is evident in his tone of voice & lyrics; “M.I.C., those are the first 3 letters of my name and what I breathe is RAP, it is my dream my everything, what I’m destined to be.” Records like these show exactly how multitalented Ruger has become and he’s ready for Round 2 with a number of tracks prepared for his next album that will give us an array of club, street & underground hits. New horizons appear in Ruge’s future and he is keeping his eyes towards endless possibilities. His countless hours spent in the studio and on stage will produce many hits to come while his youth and energy assure us that this is only the beginning of a fierce career, and a magnificent contribution to the story & the life of rap & hip-hop.
