Strong words from a determined and steadfast individual. Having spent the better part of his twenties touring the world with the hugely popular pop-punk godfathers RIDDLIN’ KIDS. Guitarist Dustin Stroud is a man who has put his money where his mouth is. Emerging from ashes of both his former band and Austin, Texas staple RUBBERHED, new outfit SAY HELLO TO THE ANGELS is determined to rewrite the books on what a punk band should be defined by.
With a sound that draws equally from both its post-punk roots (Hot Water Music, The Descendents) as well as modern rock ferver (Foo Fighters), SAY HELLO TO THE ANGELS’ musical ferocity is matched only by its generosity. In a move harkening back to community-minded days of bands like Fugazi, 20% of the proceeds from all SHTTA album sales, merchandising an live shows are donated to charity.
“We got into music fro the spirit of DIY, the indie work ethic, and to rock peoples’ faces off,” admits Stroud. “Now we do this in the footsteps of our fathers, and add hopefully what will be our part of the legacy- the addition of charitable contrubutions to the equation.”
