Our Story:

When various DJs started to introduce rap music in the 70s, they had no idea that this style would explode into a multimillion dollar industry. This genre even outsells others such as country and western music, so even if not everyone admires this music we have to respect the fact that hip hop has exploded into mainstream culture. From this culture, a new artist comes from the streets of southern Louisiana. His name is Sidewalk and his rhythmic lyrics represent the true power of rap music that makes this genre one of the music lucrative pieces of art in our modern age.

Confidence is vital to any rapper and Sidewalk definitely represents his strong side in tracks such as, "The Villain is Back." The background sound is mellow, but his voice is very extraordinary. While the track doesn't last long on his myspace page, he tells his fans that Lafayette has a lot to be proud of and with how proud he is of his hometown, he won't be leaving anytime soon! Also, if you are wondering who listens to his music, he clearly states, "You won't believe the number of people waiting on me." to release more music. Those who like songs like "Gangsta's Paradise" will enjoy the smooth music here.

But remixes are often part of many R&B tracks. This is true in one of his latest songs, "Louisiana Takeover." Various sounds of explosions merge well with the lyrics that Sidewalk raps. It's a powerful song that even has a reference to Katrina. While there are various colorful metaphors at work here, his message is a powerful one revealing the angst that many in his home state have to face.
