Our Story:

Subrosa Union is now best known as an opening act for nationally touring acts like Slightly Stoopid, Pepper, and the MTV Caffeine Tour with Carmen Electra.

Subrosa Union’s debut album, “Looking Forward,” released by Austin indie label Fugamundi Records, sounds like cooking three sonic ingredients into one satisfying dish—Rock, Reggae, and Hip Hop. Latin-influenced rhythms and surprising transitions make Subrosa’s album and performances riveting.

Their music is wholly original, but listen for hints of influences as diverse as Carlos Santana, Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley, and Stevie Ray Vaughn.

Subrosa Union has played venues like the Knitting Factory in Hollywood and Stubb’s Amphitheater in Austin with bands like Long Beach Short Bus, Authority Zero, and reggae visionaries Third World.

Subrosa Union is a trio featuring Michael Anaya – vocals and guitar; Chris Paulos – bass and MC; and Paul Valenzuela – drums. The band is originally from El Paso, TX and is now based in Austin. www.subrosaunion.com
