The Guest signature sound is a hard driving, melodic blend of the band's rock n' roll influences and each member's distinct personality. The band's approach to their music is faithfull to the most basic of premises- it's all about the songs, and putting on a great rock show. This simple requirement has struck a chord within the hearts of true music fans in their home of Austin, Texas. It has set them apart from bands that tend to follow trends and whims of the industry, instead of playing what they desire; what moves them. Their music and sound continues to evolve with every performance and new song.

U guys really are good, don't be surprised if ur famous one day. Well were a new band but we don't have much in the way of recording equiptment so we have all these songs but not much of a following. WE NEED HELP
These guys really have something. I went to Tyler to see the Burden Brothers, but really ended up liking these guys a lot. Keep it up, and come see us in Houston sometime! (Maybe don't give that dancing guy so much to drink next time)
You won't be disappointed with this album. The Guest are one of the best rock and roll bands you've yet to hear.
the guest is like no other rock band in austin. they don't care about what they should wear or how they should do their hair. they just f*ckin' play. and they play well! the cd is killer, the songs blast & punch like rock should. it's hard driving and haunting; you won't be able to get it out of your mind, much less your cd player. but to really appreciate the guest, see them live. you will not see another band play in or around austin with the tightness, passion, and ease of the guest. i promise.
Toatally bitchin album! The sound is great The Guest defantly knows how to incorparte 70s rock into modern rock to produce this awesome sound!! KUDOS!! The Guest Rocks my socks off!!
the guest throws down some serious rock & roll action. One of the better rock bands to come out of austin for sure!
I want to see these boys get a record deal. Is there anyone out there that could do that for them? Please, Please, Please. Their wonderful.

Living and playing in a city such as Austin, Texas, where new bands are born every minute (and buried just as fast), one would probably be safe in assuming that any aspiring band would need either a gimmick of sorts or some seriously real talent to get noticed. Meet The Guest; A band that has no gimmick. The members, Doug Summers-Vocals & Guitar, Jonathan DuBois-Guitar & Vocals, Chris Robertson-Bass Guitar, and Brett Guillot-Drums, bring an amazing amount of individual talent to the table, that when combined, makes for some great chemistry that comes across loud and clear in their music. I've been fascinated with this band's sound for years. In fact, I wore out their debut cd (literally) while waiting for a new one to be recorded. "Leaving It All Behind", The Guest's second full length effort was well worth the wait. The well produced LIAB goes way beyond where the first self-titled cd and six song ep left off in capturing this band's musical essence and new confidence. It shows a certain maturity and an undeniable emotionial connection to the material that wasn't always as prevalent. With well played parts, sultry melodic vocals, and songs surprisingly rich in atmosphere and emotion, it is hard to pinpoint exactly which part makes The Guest's songs so profound and appealing. The instruments are so well played by DuBois, Guillot, and Robertson, that it may have caused some listeners to overlook Summer's vocal talents previously, but that's hard to do here, because they shine. From his trademark lyrical cadence to silken falsetto, Summer's has always been an understated guitarist, relying more on his skills as a powerful vocalist, but he does both extremely well these days. Listen to "Unsatisfied", "Slow", and "Calm Before The Storm" to get the full effect of his vocal abilities. LIAB is an emotionally explosive cd fueled by heavy-hitting chord progressions combined with a melodic blending of infinite vocals. The Guest have managed to create a truly listenable cd from beginning to end and I highly recommend listening to this cd often enough to wear out your own copy. -Holly Hawthorne
amazing band
