Our Story:

The Will Evans Project is one of the most innovative and experimental acts to grace the stages of the Texas music scene.

Adding to the band's growing list of accomplishments, WEP was recently nominated by the Independent Music Awards (IMA's) for Best Live Album of The Year 2007¯. Out of thousands of entries from six continents, the band's debut album was overwhelmingly recognized as one of the year's 'Best' and is now being promoted to over 20 million music fans Worldwide through the 2008 Edition of the Musician's Atlas. WEP also received honorable mention in the Austin Chronicle's 2008 Music Awards for Best Experimental Band.

"Since the beginning 'The Project' has been about three friends creating something honest and from the soul, which is why the three of us are extremely proud to have been acknowledged by the IMA's, as well as the discerning Austin music fans" says singer/songwriter Will Evans.

Their music challenges and pushes the boundaries of what is possible with two acoustic guitars and creative drums & percussion. WEP is writing and creating music that fuses blues, rock, soul, and improvisation to form a musical journey that is truly unique.

As a three piece, the Will Evans Project relies heavily on their experimentation and ability to look beyond tradition to create music that speaks to their listeners. When starting WEP, Will, Jason and Jeff began filling musical space that was once not thought possible without a bass player. "There was never a conscious decision to not have a bassist but it has given all of us a chance to do something truly original with our instrumentation" says, guitarist Jason Pollan.

Recorded in front of a live audience at Music Lab Studios, the trio's self-titled debut album breaks new ground by bridging the gap between a polished studio recording and the energy of a live performance. The unique production quality and the trio's distinctive guitar, vocal, and expressive percussion creates a new experience worthy of attention from even the most critical fans of Austin's acoustic scene.

"No two shows are entirely the same because of the different paths that we take when performing." Says, drummer / percussionist Jeff Hartsough. "We were able to capture that energy and vibe on this recording."

The future is looking bright for this trio. The Will Evans Project's chemistry is the driving force behind their ever evolving sound and powerful live performance. "We are just starting to tap into the possibilities of our music," says Will Evans.

With the support of WEP's ever-growing fan base and unwavering dedication to creating something honest and true, there is no doubt that this is just the beginning.
